lovely photos John, the first one makes me think of the horticultural equivalent of a traffic light. I didn't know how much I liked candytuft until I saw your photos below. I wonder what kind of bird laid the eggs in the nest so divinely photographed? That looks like a wasp in the photo below - scary, in my experience, wasps that look like are very aggressive. (I have been stung on 2 very painful occasions).
