Why I love this time of year

The rapid emergence of new, clean and vibrant foliage backlit by the sun:

And the promise and anticipation of an explosion of flowers in the very near future:

  2. It is exciting, each day (or hour) something new emerges!

  3. Great shots - it IS an exciting time of year. I love walking around the "back 40" feet, not acres every morning to see what's new.

  4. lovely photos John, the first one makes me think of the horticultural equivalent of a traffic light. I didn't know how much I liked candytuft until I saw your photos below. I wonder what kind of bird laid the eggs in the nest so divinely photographed? That looks like a wasp in the photo below - scary, in my experience, wasps that look like are very aggressive. (I have been stung on 2 very painful occasions).
