Rhonda likes Viburnum but I’ve never been a great admirer of them.

I have not head of this one John, maybe it is not hardy in zone 5. I love all viburnums, they are a staple in the garden. I am afraid I have only Carlesi Compactum now, Arrowood up in Wisconsin and have had many through the years at other homes.

It’s so nice to see a well kept garden. Mine needs someone to love it who will stay home and take care of it. : Sadly for our garden (but pretty nice for us) we’ll be leaving for the next two months.

So nice looking – I have a beautiful big old viburnum that has dark berries on it too – but the flowers are different. I thought of you this morning as I went down to the back of the yard, camera in hand, to shoot my new Queen Elizabeth rose. But our friends, the squirrels apparently got there before me and had a nice feast on the newly opened bloom – nothing left!!!!

Your shrubs and grasses, flowers, are all so perfect…deer or no deer. You are so lucky. I’m in zone 3b and it really is difficult to find just what works and what does not…research, like you do, has been ultimate. I could be your mother and still don’t have all I want mostly due to the critters…but it’s all good just being out in the fresh air and getting my hands dirty.
