The Obsessive Neurotic Gardener

As she does every morning around 6:30 or so, Casey (the greatest labrador retriever ever created) cried to go outside. I dragged my tired butt out of bed to open the front door for her and what a greeting I received when I stepped outside:

How can you not feel good to be alive when you see that? I had to create a quick post early this morning to share with you.

And it didn’t end there. My good buddy and favorite ornamental grass was showing some serious spunk:

After looking like this only two days ago:

We have a little ways to go with some of the other ornamental grasses:

But you won’t get a negative word out of me today.

Have a fantastic weekend my friends!

John

What a beautiful red sunrise. Our sunrise yesterday (11/4) in upstate NY was so red, too, that I wish I had a camera with me. The other pictures were lovely, too.

Fantastic sunrise, I particularly like the cloud formation with all the colours bouncing off it.

Can’t resist asking about the barberries in the last picture. How old are they? And are they “Aurea”?? I just planted one a month ago with the same brilliant reds like yours, but mine is so small!!! Are yours more than a couple years old? I’m wondering how fast mine will grow…

My hubby is a duck hunter and he teases me all the time about missing all the gorgeous views at sunrise, but ya know, some of the those sunsets are spectacular too….
